That is an amazingly long release note.

Did all of this happen because of the pandemic, or in spite of it?

:)

"That is an amazingly long release note."

Buried in it is a hint that a new version of FCPX is in the offing: if you search for the word "Final" you'll see a note that Logic Pro X 10.5 can now correctly import Final Cut Pro X xml v. 1.9 files. But there is no version 1.9 in the wild yet: if you look at the most current version of FCPX the xml version is 1.8.

Annoying. The thing about interchange formats is constant changing just makes it complicated for all software developers to be able to cope with all the variants. Pr manages to use the old FCP7 XML. AAF keeps changing too which is why I usually prefer OMF for audio, because it now always works. Constant change of these formats undermines them. No doubt Resolve will cope but I feel for developers who have to write software to convert all the different interchange formats.

To be fair, the xml for fcpx hasn’t changed in 2 years. The fact that they have a new version suggests 10.5 could be a big update.

I've been playing with the update all evening it's fantastic!

Let's hope FCPX 10.5 is as big a feature update as Logic's one.
