How to undistort VR 360 degree media for use in 16:9 timeline

I need to do some work in a normal 16:9 timeline and will be using various clips that are coming from 360 degree VR media. I basically want to use an undistorted slice of the 360 degree video in a 1920x1080 timeline.
When I turn on the VR view in Premiere, it gives me exactly the view I want, but of course it's only the view that changes... I basically want that cross section or angle locked, undistorted, to be combined with other shots that are normal 16:9 clips.
Is there a way to do this? Right now I'm having mixed success using the Lens Distortion effect to remove some of the curvature... but it would be great if it were possible to undistort properly.
Source media is 2:1 4096x2048 360 degree media, timeline is 1920x1080 16:9, delivery will be non-VR 1920x1080.
