subtitles / captions in Premiere - export remiport issue

Dear Premiere Gurus,

I just finished my new shortmovie and wanted to generate Subtitles for international filmfestival use.
I made the captions in german, exported them as srt files and gave it to the translation.
They sent the file back. When I reimport the srt file, the properties are set to 720x480 - and not to 1920x1080 as it should be. Everything else works fine - timecode etc. Of corse I could place the captions a bit lower and scale them up, by upscaling it gets pixelated and I just don´t know what will happen when I try to use it with dcp export.
It strangly is imported as open catptions, but the original stream format was CEA-708... I hope to be more adaptable with this format for dcp export... but I´m not familiar with that...
Does anyone have an idea what I can do?

Best regards,

Felix

Hi Felix,

You could use my Subbits to convert the SRT to (editable) PNG files with an XML and import that in Premiere.
That will be great looking and painless.
See a demo vid here:

Or toy with the software yourself:
