Davinci resolve Android/IPad surface control
by Jean-Pierre Leveillee on Dec 20, 2013 at 12:11:07 pm

Hello Resolve Community,

I am developing an virtual control surface application for Davinci Resolve 10.
My goal is to emulate most of the control surface functions.
For now I done all the technical tests and It's working pretty well.
After the holidays I hope to have a fully working version of the app.
it's working on Windows and an Android tablet but it can be ported to the iPad and OSX (I use cross-platform development environment)

Someone would be interested in that?
PS: I am not trying to sell anything in this forum I just want to do some kind of poll of the interest of such application.
I am developing this app for myself but if it can be useful to others I can push more the development :)

Thanks

Jean-Pierre

Sounds cool. I know there are currently ways to map keyboard shortcuts as macros to tablets... How would you map software functionality (offsets/curves/etc) where no shortcuts currently exist? As I understand it BM interfaces with controllers via the resolve software itself, not via an open standard... That's why the Tangent Hub, and Tangent iPad apps don't currently work.

I developped a small client/server application that communicate with the Android app.
This small server application use windows API calls like sendInput, sendMessages to emulate the mouse and keyboard events on each controls of the Davinci Resolve software.

It's like using autoHotKey or similar software but it's embed in my server application.
At this time I have full control from my Android app on each controls in Log and Primaries like Offset, Shadow, Highlight etc.

Hi Al,

Just to clarify things......

The Tangent Hub is supported by Resolve. This is how Resolve talks to the Element panels.

The new Tangent element-Vs iPad app will work with Resolve.

Cheers,

Chris

Awesome! Can the buttons be remapped? How long has this been implemented? What about the Wave?

How's the delay? Have not used a tablet for over a year but remember a bit of an awkward delay.

Currently I have just the balls pannel from the tangent element, and use a gamer key board that I remapped for resolve controls!

Always interested in new methods ;)

How much can you remap with the gamer board?
