I love the Hue curves. I use them all the time to bring skin tones in line, solve blotchiness issues, and control colors.

99% of my hue curves look something like this. especially with

Manipulating things working across one side to the other is really annoying. Seeing as skin tones is where you're more likely to fine tune it seems silly that it just doesn't look like the selector which helpfully has the skin tones in the middle,

Couldn't it be more like this?

I almost never mess with the cyans in the hue/sat curves.

Anyone else find this super annoying?

[Joseph Mastantuono] "Anyone else find this super annoying?"

Somewhat annoying, since I tend to have an old-school "Primary balance, Secondary tweak" approach, and 99% of my hue nudges are in flesh tone to take out spills.

You'd think the spectral arrangement would be almost arbitrary, and I have to wonder if there is some other math beyond the (Western philosophy) left-to-right ROYGBIV display?

One of the precepts of NTSC colour processing (YIQ) is fundamental insensitivity to hue changes in the green/magenta segments of the spectrum, whereas around fleshtone/amber is hyper-critical.

I totally absolutely agree :)

Please move the Skin tones area to the middle...
Or even better, center the range around the first click

Yes to the "center range to first click" notion...

I'd probably start using it more if it was set up like this-very good point and thank you for sharing!

Wow, thanks for calling this out. This is definitely something that drives me nuts on a daily basis. I think making the skintone range default to the center of the graph makes perfect sense, since I would guess the #1 use-case for Hue Curves is tweaking skintones.

But it would make more sense to be able to dynamically "pan" the hue range, so that you can focus *any* hue range within an optimal place in the window.

Sort of the way the Chromakeyer in FCP works.

+ 1 to this.

Obviously in no way a dealbreaker, but would love to see it adjusted if it was easy to do.
