Format & Compression Setting Issues W/Sorenson 4.2
by Tim Scarpino on Nov 25, 2005 at 1:35:58 pm

Greetings,

I (rather ITS) just updated my HP xw8200 w/Sorenson Squeeze 4.2. I'm using this in conjunction w/Avid Media Composer Adrenaline.

Our problem is when Sorenson opens, just Flash Movie, Flash Video and MP3 Audio come up oin the Format & Compression Settings window. I cannot import any of the other presets, nor can we figure out how to add the other (AVI, MPEG1-2, MPEG4, Quicktime)formats into it. Online help is virtually worthless for us.

Can anyone be of assistance before we spend a bunch of time on the phone with SS support?

Thanks for your consideration.

Tim

Is this the full version (not just the Flash version)? Sorry to ask such a dumb question, but just wondering first.

Also, have you checked your settings directory (X:Program FilesSorenson MediaSorenson Squeeze 4DefaultPresets)

If there are not there (you should see a bunch of files with .xss extensions on it including your Flash and MP3 files there), then maybe they got wiped out somehow.

This has happened to me before, and a simple reinstall fixed it.

Hope this helps!
Cheers!

Thanks for your response, and so quickly.

How would we know if this was just the Flash version?

And oh, there are no dumb questions where I'm concerned :-)

Thanks for your consideration,

No problem. You would know by the price you paid. Here is the store URL:
http://www.sorensonstore.com/index.php

Most likely they (IT) may have purchased the cheaper version for you (which is just Flash compression).

Good luck!
