shortcut for scale when repositioning in 3d space

Hi all...

Is there a shortcut for scale when repositioning in 3d space?

I have all my objects in position and looking great in the active camera window, but I want a bigger shadow between some of them. So I want to push them further away from each other. Is there a shortcut or way to keep them the same size (scale) in the active window yet push them apart in Z space, so the composition looks the same as it was?

Thanks

Thanks for all your help

Im not aware of any quick way of doing this. I often have to push things further back in Z-space and then manually scale them to compensate. I guess you could write an Expression that scales them in relation to distance from the camera, but it would involve some maths with the angle of the camera lens that I cant quite work out.

Thanks..

I seem to have to do this a lot, partly because I don't plan the project very much and dump the layers in. In this case its a little theater stage and pushing the scenery around is the problem. If I knew more maths I could sit there with a calculator I suppose. I just thought there would be a shortcut like holding down the shift key and then moving back in space. Oh well...

Thanks anyway

Yep, a shortcut like that would be nice. Did you try the AE Expressions COW?

Or you could copy the original object, then move the copy and scale it up until it matches the size of the original. Then delete the original.

Here's a script that helps with this... not sure if it's worth the effort when you're just playing with one layer (you need to run a script, adjust, then run another script to finish the step) but it does what you want :)

Sorry, Stuart ... I don't see the script ...?
