Strange error message at software start-up
by Oliver Koch on Nov 4, 2019 at 4:11:24 am
For a week or so I'm getting the following error message when AE is firing up (post splash screen):
"Unable to execute script at line 1058. Function JSON.parse is undefined."
I can just click it away and everything runs normally it's just, well, weird and obviously a bit annoying.
Re-installing AE got rid of it for a day or two before it started popping back up again.
I didn't install any new plugins etc lately.
Thanksfor any advice.

this most likely means that some script you are using (made by other devs) has a native json.parse library, and for some reason it became not supported. So while it directly does not hinder your workflow, something doesn't work.
Experienced similar issue in the past, irregularly, where my scripts didn't worked on one or the other machine due to this behaviour. Accordingly, now I always include and embed parsing library in the code.
