Am i the only one who constantly mixes up ease high and ease low?

on the text animator I think it would help me a lot if it said ease start and ease end. Im always jiggling with the control trying to figure out which is which and ive been doing this for years.

yeah, that makes little sense for me too. Plus the fact that it doesn't seem to react quite like a keyframe's influence.

Once I get things set up I'll save the animation to a preset and name it properly so I don't have to fuss with that anymore.

I would recommend not using any of the easing complexities of text animators and use Paul Slemmer's preset here:
https://paulslemmer.com/type-array

it will make things much easier for text animator's easing and so much more

I dont understand type array you suggested...it does not seem to do anything. The tutorial is not much help either...what is it supposed to do?

It will create an influence slider for your animators that will give you much control over easing. Bounce, inertia you name it.

it still does not seem to do anything but add a slight fade in at the start.nothing else changes..not the speed not the ease...nothing

You still have animators but they are in the typearray hierarchy. Add the ones you need and the influence will include them. Opacity and position are there by default so there is a movement and fade. You can change or delete them.

okay...at least on your project i can see it kinda actually does something...but not much..and i cant tell how you applied it to work with your current text animator.. but I dont think its worth it to find out

well try to create without it a bouncy/overshoot characters/words, and tell me where that leads you ☺ also try to set easing to animated in fade up words or any other animator and see that you have issues getting it just right.

you add animators as you add any animators... with the add button.

please share what you are trying to accomplish and where is the issue you are facing. if you can share the project or screenshots/screencapture. trust me, this preset is widely excepted by top motion designers around the world and is made by one of the best out there for a reason.

When you have time, check out the video on this page: https://www.schoolofmotion.com/tutorials/after-effects-text-animator-tapered-stroke
It helps a LOT when it comes to understanding the text animators and how to use their power.
