hi, n00b here...wondering if you can access a glyphs panel within AE for types with glyphs available? I've been able to access the glyphs within other Adobe programs, but I can't find where to access them within AE. Is there a place to find them and if not, why not?
Thanks a ton!

Sorry, but you can't, because AE's text functions aren't capable of doing it. You just have to select the typeface and type.

This bums me out, too. I'm going to file a feature request and I suggest you do the same. As a workaround, I put the glyph in a text object inside another Adobe app, then copy and paste that text into my Ae text layer.

Thanks Dave and Walter! I will also file a feature request. It's odd it's not an option. Appreciate the replies!

Old thread, but here's a solution I just utilized.
Type the text in Adobe Illustrator, insert the alternate glyph in AI, then copy that text and paste into a text layer in After Effects. It just worked for me, I hope it can help you.

On Windows, the built-in CharMap utility is a fast and easy option as well.
