Phong Shading not behaving
Phong Shading not behaving

The scene uses a physical sky
The image on the left is "Render Scene" and the edges of the sections of the cylinder are visible
The image on the right is "Render Active Objects" and phong shading appears to be working well

I do not know why this is happening and how to resolve it

I do not think that subdivision or hyper-nurbs is the answer
