Sphere Soft body rendering issue

I was working recently on an animated project where, in the last scene, a ball would fall on a spike and deflate in a way. I added a soft body to the sphere and made it drop on the spike and it worked well, but when I tried to render it, the sphere's deformation just doesn't appear and instead you have a very odd-acting sphere that sortof hovers around the spike.
Is this a bug? Or is there some setting I'm missing for this to work properly?

A quick guess: Deselect "Render Perfect" in the sphere's attributes.
