I am from paris but I want to move to nyc.
Here is my reel :

feed back is more than welcome (good ot bad).

Also if you know people in nyc, it would really help me
if you could forward my reel to them or give me their contact info.

Thanks in advance for you time.

Ugo, great reel--you material is top-notch. The only suggestion I might have is to make one composite reel of clips from all these spots cut together, which would be even more impressive to a potential employer--if you put all of that in a 4-minute clip I think you'd be set. You could still have the individual clips to watch, if they want.

Hahaha, nevermind, I just noticed the "My Reel" up top--I guess my suggestion, then, is to make that LINK more obvious--the first thing people will click on is the MTV network ID, I think.

Unfortunately I don't know anyone in NYC--I'm from North Carolina and am also trying to move to NY. I'm just putting my reel together now (as a shooter/editor, not really motion graphics). Does MTV France have any connections to MTV here? That might be your best bet...

Your stuff looks good and I love the cut out band stuff...when the guy is playing the guitar I was almost crying I was laughing soo hard.

My suggestion for you would be the demo seems a bit long for what it has in there. It gets a bit repetitive I would cut it down and keep the viewer wanting more and then have a bit different reel that you bring with on the interview. It might have some more indepth stuff with shot break downs and stuff.

Your work is good and it has its own style so I wish you the best...

good luck,

Great looking reel...but it does get a little repetitive. Cut 30-40 seconds out and it would be amazing.

I'm a freelancer that just moved back to NYC and I've found that the usual boards like Craigslist ( and Mandy ( are a good place to start. There's also a great site called NewsToday ( that has an employment board as well as links to info on design and film/video.

When I got back here, I started calling around and asking for informational interviews with creative directors of small post houses. I'd ask them to look at my reel and talk to them about the job market, etc. A few times, this got me work and eventually I got a perma-lance job out of it...most of the time people will be willing to give you 20 minutes to look at a reel and talk...if your reel is good and you're cool with them, then they might remember you the next time something comes up.

Anyway, hope this helps...

Thank you for the feed back.

I too missed the link to your reel the first time at your site, so make it bigger than the links to your MTV promo stuff. You've got a wonderful sense of humor which is a plus and your reel is fun but repetitive. Moving to NYC, the link following link to NewYork411 is a good place to start.

Good Luck and be persistent.
