missing a driver now!!!
on May 29, 2007 at 8:05:57 pm

After I took out the 2 gig of memory that was bad, the computer started up and everything seemed fine.

Until I went to start up the 844x program then a window came up that says it is missing a multimedia controller driver for the XYRATEX RR-1422 SCSI Processor.

I can't seem to find it in any of my disks I was given with the unit in '04.

Can anyone help me or does anyone have this driver?

TIA

Sam

Sam,

If you can tell me where to look on my 844/x, I would be happy to send the driver to you. I did a file search and nothing came up.

It turns out that it was the ram and the SCSI drives themselves that are bad or messed up. So right now I am moving my A/V .mov files to an external 1TB LACIE drive via firewire so I can wipe the JBOD SCSI clean and start over.

I would like to know if I can still do my digitizing and editing with the 844x using my 1TB LACIE Drive via Firewire?

TIA

Sam

I dunno if you can edit on a FW drive... I tend to think not unless the timeline is VERY simple. But, hey, give it a shot.

I've tried hooking up a slower drive to 844/X and it freaks out. Well, actually it just crashes, but it does so immediately and consistently.

You may be luckier, but I would have no illusions that it'll work.

Good luck with it.
