importing dv files

Bonjour everybody,

I need help for importing dv files.
When I click on import button, the progress is good near to the end and then stop with the message:
"Could not import because of an internal error".
Is there anybody to help me ?

Thanks and hope.

Thierry

What software version/hardware do you use? Media 100 HD/sw/Producer do support DV files natively, so the import should go very fast. If you are on a pre-V10 version the files should get converted into Media 100 i codec automatically on import. If the import does not work you could try to convert them to Media 100 codec e.g. by exporting the files from QuickTime player.

What sort of DV files are they (do they have a MOV or AVI wrapper for example)?

Do they play back in Quicktime player fine?

I've imported DV files in without any troubles, but longer clips are always a little trickier. I agree with Floh, if it doesn't work after the second attempt, then cut your loses and rerender in After Effects. You'll save time and stop yourself from pulling your hair out.

I shoot with a mini dv, import and quick edit in i.movie then export from i.movie with a file name dv high quality, then import in 844x.
It plays well in QuickTime player but it does'nt have .mov or .avi ... only .dv
The duration is 10 seconds, and it's about 40Mo.
Is it a bug, or am I doing wrong ?
Thanks a lot.
