Move an object PLUS keyframes????
on Apr 23, 2014 at 9:41:51 am

I'm struggling with this, am I overlooking something really obvious?
But how can I move an object plus it's respective keyframes about 2" to the left - WITHOUT having to alter the keyframe co-ordinates?

It's ok to do for one object, but I've got several to do and it's PITA.

This is the oject that I want to move to the right:

But, obviously, when I grab it it only lets me move that particular keyframe on the timeline:

Theres a link here that shows the pictures too:

I'm missing something so obvious here aren't I?
And you're going to make me look so stupid.

:)

You can copy/paste keyframes. Try highlighting the set of keyframes in question, hit command-copy, delete them where they are, move your cursor to where you want them to be, hit paste.

Thanks, but it's not the keyframes I want to move, but rather the object as a whole including the keyframes.

I've sussed it now though.
:)

NESTING is my new best friend, again.

Nest the clip then I can select the nest and move it around the Canvas to my hearts content.

Woohoo.

Beware the seduction of nesting in FCP7. It has led others to madness.

LOL.

yep, I can understand that.
I've quite a complicated sequence of things coming in and moving about, so I've now ended up with nests within nests - so, yes, you do need to keep your wits about you.
:)

... and god help anyone who picks this up after me.
