Backing up a copy of your FCP 7 Media Project
on Mar 8, 2012 at 7:12:47 pm

Hello,

I am trying to create a backup from my old external 2TB to a new external 2TB drive, and I want to see if anyone can give me some advice. The backup is for safety purposes but the project is getting updated constantly, my problem is I need to know how I can copy any future changes to the new hard drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Take a look at Carbon Copy Cloner. You can set a schedule to backup your hard drive on a weekly basic if you like.

Carbon copy cloner and superduper both are using the unix level utility called rsync and can do 'incremental' changes of drives - meaning only the changes get copied. Both can be scheduled. First sync is the most painful.
