FCP Borders/Framing around the footage
on Mar 5, 2012 at 8:34:31 am

I am making a music video about Australia and Bali, and I love the borders/framing used in the first 7 seconds of this video: http://www.billabonggirls.com.au/bbtv-vid/191/summer-10-fashion-reel

But I'm not sure how to recreate that in Final Cut Pro, or what effects are used?

Thanks,
Alex

They have used an old film frame or an empty film leader frame as an overlay - pretty easy to achieve.
Google "old film frame photoshop" and look at images. You will see lots of static film frame overlays that you could use. I found several borders and a large film strip graphic.
There are also some film look plug ins that will make your footage look more "film like" inside the frame.
There are some free ones like CGM aged film that can add grain and tint etc. There are others - just search for film look plug ins.
Hope that helps.

best wishes

I haven't been able to find a border similar, so i just screenshotted the video and editted out the insides, not very professional but yeah,
