I have an odd question which I (despite a lot of googling) am yet to find an answer for.
When I use my FCP at home to single screen edit, why are the viewer and canvas windows very dark?
I am cutting on a Mac Mini and viewing on a Sony Bravia LCD TV, through the HDMI.
At work I have a tower and an Apple Mac display and all is fine. My Mac Air laptop is also fine. Also, when I look at the same clip through VLC or QT (Mac Mini into Sony TV via HDMI), it is fine.
My current work-around is to apply a color grade to the clip, edit as normal and then remove the effect before export. However, I am just curious to know if it is something inherent with using a domestic TV to cut with FCP, or if maybe I have my set up incorrect?
