I cannot use compressor it will not work corrupted or something

I need the best way to do a test burn for playing a dvd 1 hr 30 min film on an older dvd player. NOT using compressor.I did a few exports but they are all to large to fit on a dvd. Must be under 4.2 GB Thank you...I am using FCP 5 power PC G 5 OSX 10.3.9 : )

Do you have iMovie? What comes out of FCP isn't going to be what goes on the DVD. It has to be an authored MPEG-2 Video TS folder structure.

If you have iMovie, you can do it on your mac. If you don't, you're going to have to fix compressor because it's the underlying structure for MPEG2 creation along with DVDSP.

Cammie,

I understand and see you're frustrated. There are always solutions - and forums are just one of them (but at a great price - free! Remember, nobody here is paid, and we're doing it to help others.)

I may have a solution for you. You might want to try burn

It's an open source DVD burning/authoring application. There seems to be a link for it's use on a Non-Intel macintosh

Best,

Jeff

P.S. I know you're frustrated. If something is broken, it needs to be fixed, not worked around. Work arounds are great for today, but really box you in for the future.

You can also import your mov file from FCP into DVDSP and it will create mpeg2 dvd ready files for you. Adjust settings in preferences b/4 import.

Cammie,

I hope you bought the older one! The current one won't work on your system.
