I have a question that hopefully someone could answer about Qmaster. I tried contacting Apple but not much help. I have a Mac pro with 2 x 2.66 GHz 6 core Intel Xeon processors, so 12 cores. Can I use Apple Qmaster to utilize all 12 cores using just this one computer and if so how do I set this up for the best results?

Yes for some some applications like Compressor or SHAKE.
No for FC.
In the QMaster Preference panel, set a Quick Cluster with 12 instances and check "Sharing".
Thanks for getting back to me, sorry for the long reply back.
So see if I got this straight, it's a 12 core machine(12 instances???) I set the "Share this computer as" to "QuickCluster with services" check the "Services" to share and managed. Then the "Options for selected services" to 11 Instances. Then I should be go to go?
Yep, sounds like you've got it right! When submitting your Compressor job, just select the VirtualCluster you created in the Cluster drop down box.
Also, remember that another guideline Apple suggests when setting up VirtualClusters is to create a single instance for ever gigabyte of RAM in your machine. So if you have any issues with the 11 instance setup, try scaling back using that number of instances. Compressor and QMaster can be a bit touchy!
