Converting HD timeline to SD...
on Mar 19, 2011 at 9:17:02 am

I have been editing footage in HD, the sequence settings are all set to the clips format.

However, the company we are using to play out the VTs have now just told us that they cant play out HD....is there a way I can convert my sequence to SD?

Do I have to open a new sequence, set to SD, copy the footage across and then ask it to match the sequence settings?

Or can I duplicate the sequence and just change the sequence settings?

I can think of at least two different ways to do this....

But the easiest will be to toss the HD sequence into an SD sequence (nesting)

I would recommend editing in HD.
Export (HD) the sequence when you are done choosing "current Settings"
Drop that file into compressor and convert/compress there.

This assumes you do not have an I/O card that can play out downconverting...
