AE video w/ alpha channel to FC-Express/iMovie?
on Nov 11, 2010 at 3:13:57 pm

I keyed out the green screen with AE and saved it with "RGB+alpha". How can I import this to Final Cut Express or iMovie? Is it even possible?

You should be doing all of your compositing OUTSIDE of the application if you are going to do things this way. iMovie and FCE don't support codecs that carry alpha channels.

By \"outside\", do you mean that I should do all the compositing within AE? I find AE the best for keying. I\'ll just might ask, how do you split a video in a layer without making the rest of the clip a new layer?

[Tommi Härmä] "By \"outside\", do you mean that I should do all the compositing within AE?"

Yes...

[Tommi Härmä] " I find AE the best for keying."

Me too.

IN After Effects? Got me. I just deal with the new layer. Why?
