Hi guys,
another thing,
for some reason everything i export out of fcp is looking darker.
any ideas?

Use proper monitoring. Don't rely on the CANVAS in FCP and the Viewing window in Color. They aren't accurate.

Capture card...broadcast monitor or decent HDTV. That's what you need.

OK. and this footage that looks darker when you export. You are viewing that how? Exporting to WHERE? Exported to WHAT?

when i export it and view the qt on my maschine or send it to grade its darker, but soon as i import it back into fcp it is the right colour again.

QT on your machine has a different gamma...plays back a different gamma. ALL machines do this. In the QT preferences, you can enable FCP Gamma. But that only works on your machine. But it will show you the proper gamma.

When you take it to grade? Take it WHERE to grade? And how can you grade without proper monitoring?
