XML- Safari document?
on Mar 31, 2010 at 3:00:11 am

I just made an XML for the first time tonight for someone that is working in FCP 6. I have 7. The icon on the file is the Safari icon. Is this correct? When I double click on it, it opens in Safari. I can also open it in text edit but it looks a lot different. I just want to make sure I didn't make the XML wrong.

I can't comment on the coding of the xml and whether it'll work or not but xml docs can be opened and edited in multiple apps. I generally edit mine in Text Edit. Depends on the setup of the system they are being opened on as to which app will be used.

All the best,

Your XML is fine. Just change the 'Open with...' in the get info window for your XML, and hit 'Change all'. You'd want to open it with FCP on your machine, but you can also open xmls in text edit. The person you're giving this file to will know what to do with it at any rate.
