Opening up Program without loading projects

Hey, I would like Final Cut (6) to open without loading the last project, and either open waiting for me to go to the menu and open a project, or prompt me to open a project or start a new one.

Can't find a setting for this.

Thanks

Hold the switch while you launch the application.

There is a user preference for it on the left side of the first panel.

All the best,

A useful alternative that I use is to create a project that is all set to my normal starting set-up.

I call it "New Project" and then lock the file (in the "Get Info" window.)

Then, when I'm ready to start a new edit, I just open that project, it opens with the timeline, etc.
configured the way I like it, and just begin with a "Save Project As..."

That's a cool idea, and will look into it.

However I have different clients, and I'd like to have different "starter" projects for the different clients.
Currently (FCP 6), seems to start with a default project if I uncheck open last project in the prefs. I'd rather be prompted to open a specific project or have the option to open the program with nothing, and then select the one I want.

Thanks

[Steven Gladstone] "I'd like to have different "starter" projects for the different clients. "

Then Preference Manager from Digital Rebellion is what you need. It allows you to save various sets of preferences which you can tailor to each client or to each specific workflow, etc. and name according to you wishes. And, at a cost of exactly $0, yes it's free, the price is pretty reasonable too.
