I am editing an interview in which the sound was recorded via a lapel mic and the audio is too harsh – not massively, but there are certain points in which the interviewee speaks louder and it isn't nice.
Could someone please tell me if there are any audio filters on Final Cut Pro 7 (or Premiere Pro) that I could apply or play around with to fix this problem?
I fully understand that audio is a tough one to fix and one to get right at the time of recording, but if there is any help I would much appreciate it.
iZotope declip is one of the best audio repair modules. It is part of the iZotope RX set. Not cheap but best value in terms of quality of tools for price.
