update FCP7.0 to FCP7.03
on Jan 5, 2016 at 7:47:33 pm

How do I update FCP7.0 to FCP7.03 ? Is there some kind of update software or some archive on the apple site?
I am installing to a new Mac and think it may be better to have the latest version.
I installed it primarily to install the codecs, but also for opening any archived projects. I don't see any update feature in the menu. Can I just copy the 7.03 app from my old mac?

Thanks

I'm not sure if this works but if you have FCP 7.0 (you do need the install disks) you can update with this link:

Yes I have all the install disks and have installed FCP7.0
I ran the download and it and it updated the apps.

Thanks

Now... before you do another thing... IMAGE that drive to a partitioned backup drive, and you'll have a safety net to quickly restore the system without all the tedious updates next time.

Yes indeed. I am in day 3 of installing software form scratch on the new machine. I am cloning the drive as I go with carbon copy cloner. I started out with an apple migration and there were problems. so then I cloned my old 2012 mac to the 2015 mac and thens were better but there were problems. The Apple store tech said its best to start from scratch. I knew it would be a hassle, but its good to have a clean install.
My old mac has used 450 GB of the drive for just software and such. I'm 3/4 done installing and I've only used 114 GB so far. I have some content like music libraries.

in the past, i've done it by simply running software update.

I couldn't find software update for some reason it just didn't appear in the menu.
The pro app update worked great, so its done.
Thanks
