Livetype replacement?
on Sep 15, 2015 at 6:00:33 am

I know I am sounding ancient! :) But I really miss Livetype (am still using FCP7). Does anyone know where I can get it - or find a decent replacement/alternative (other than Motion)?

I would be grateful....

Thanks, David. I'm pretty sure my FCPS 3 is long gone. But I will search. If my understanding is correct, the last FCP that included LiveType was version 6, correct?

You're correct, I was wrong, Livetype did in fact disappear after FCS 2, and thus FCP 6. However, many users copied it from their FCS 2 discs to their boot drive running RCS 3, and it did work, at least it did with older versions of OSX.

Much of Livetype and Livefonts was ported into Apple Motion 4 and 5, so, if you've got the OS version to support it, there's an inexpensive alternative as well. Though it's kind of overkill to only use something as capable as Motion as only a Character generator... still, it will do your CG's and so, so much more, really worth having.
