Ideal Level for M&E Track

Is there an ideal level for a FULLY FILLED M&E track for broadcast (TV), digital, VOD, and theatrical? If so, do you know what would they be?

Thanks, joe

Typically they are the same levels as a stereo mix, just minus everything else. UNLESS the spec calls for M&E Undipped, in which case they need to be at the limit the network calls for (-12db, whatever they ask for)

Peak level specs apply as Shane says. The new LKFS loudness rules do not apply as the M&E is not the final track for broadcast.

I make the M&E from the mix and undip as that is the normal requirement. It is easy if you are just dipping the pre mix stems but if you have mixed in an NLE like FCP it is messy
