Can you re-export an exported QT movie?
on Mar 30, 2015 at 11:48:41 pm

I have a large project which I need to add more to, but it is running slowly because I have a lot of layers. My plan is to do a File-Export-QT Movie, and then put that exported file in to my timeline, and edit on top of that. Will the quality of the file drop when I do another File-Export_QT Movie?

Thank you.

It all depends on the codec you use for the export. ProRes 422? You're okay.
DV? Don't do it. H.264? It shouldn't have been used in the first place -- it should have been transcoded to ProRes 422.
File size too big if you export ProRes 422? You need more storage, and that means right now.
