That subject line may be a little bit of poppycock…

My next door neighbor is a physicist and is always recording different experiments.
For example, he records himself throwing a ball and records the arch, the speed, the weight…etc etc

I don't know. I may or may not zone out when he tells me.

Anyway, he wanted to know an editing technic for freezing the thrown object frame by frame.
So the ball would stay on screen in each position it was in on the frame.
So, by the end of the ball's arch, there may be 20-30 balls on screen and you can see it's exact path.

Is there an editing term for this? How the hell do you do it?

It sounds like you need to export each frame or export a clip as a Sequence of Frames and take them into Photoshop to create the final stacked image you need. I don't think there is a plug-in for this type of action.
