HPX300 P2 to FCPX

I shooter is FTPing files that he shot in his HPX300 P2 camera. he says the files will be MXF files, and about 40 minutes of video.

What is the best way to view and convert the files to MOV so i can import into FCPX?

Is the software on this page? http://www.panasonic.com/business/provideo/support/software.asp

please share your recommendations with me.

First and foremost...make DARN SURE that that shooter is sending the files in the FULL CARD STRUCTURE! Everything...in the proper place and order. Meaning make a folder, and copy the FULL card into that folder....and send that. If they simply dig into the card structure and send only certain files, bringing these files into ANY editing app will be a challenge. I've seen too many shooters only send the audio and video files, and nothing else. That is a big huge NO NO!

Best to ask that question in the FCX forum...this is for us lowly FCP Legacy people, who refuse to give up our precious FCP 7!

But I'm darn sure it's very straight forward. Import the files and then "optimize" them. Those people will know better.
