How to "turn off" clips in timeline? Just the piece of the clip itself, not the entire track.

How to "turn off" clips in timeline? Just the piece of the clip itself, not the entire track.

So I'm working on an inherited project and a lot of the clips in the timeline are dark and do not play video or audio. They are not "turned off" by lowering the "gain" in the timeline - meaning the line on the clip itself. I don't know how the other editor did it but I end up having to match frame to see what's there since it's a documentary with lots of pics and the clip names mean almost nothing to me at this point.

control B

or right click on clip, choose "Enable" from menu
