Exporting from FCP7 - Format for BBC
on Dec 2, 2014 at 12:33:22 pm

I've been asked last minute to film/edit some interviews which are going to be broadcast on the BBC tomorrow evening. I'll be filming using a PMW 150 and editing with FCP 7.

I've never needed to do this before, usually, I just export to Quicktime Movie - but I'm not sure if that's the best way to deliver the final product? I read somewhere (while Googling) that it needs to be supplied as a "MXF OP1a file"? I don't know what that is/how to do it. So any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Your first call or email should be to the contact from Auntie Beeb themselves, get the exact tech spec from the horses' mouth. How does someone give you a paid assignment and not also give you the specifics on the deliverables?

Seems the latest update for FCPX is the way to go for MXF OP1a - http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1396
