• | Media Manager Crash - Does it start over completely?
on Jul 16, 2014 at 4:25:46 pm |
I'm media managing a large project (5TB of used media) onto a second drive and it just crashed about halfway through.
What I'm wondering is if - when restarting the media manage - it has to rewrite all the media that it already wrote to the drive, or if it recognizes that the media is there and just does the stuff that wasn't copied before it crashed.
Help?
Thanks

FCPs Media Manage is not smart that way.
you would have to start over.
if you are only making a straight COPY of the media without trimming it you would be better off without using Media Mananger,
just copy it manually.

Thanks for the info, Nick.
I did in fact start over and am now getting general error 35 at the end of the media manage. It consolidates all the media but doesn't successfully create a new sequence. Ever run into that? My internet searches are coming up pretty bare.

Yes, I was trimming media.
I isolated the problem areas to a few clips that were multiclips and tried cutting the original footage. Still gave me trouble. I've been able to work around those clips and manually manage them onto my new drive individually. Not ideal, but at least it gets the media manage done.
