Keyframing problem...
on Jun 17, 2014 at 11:35:33 pm

Hello,

I am on a 1080i project on FCP 7 and I am trying to do a creeping effect on text much like you see in Movie Trailers. However, every time I do this I see a slight weird wobbling effect on the text as it moves closer and closer to the screen... Is there any way to get rid of this?

Thanks

M

I guess you're looking at it as a real time effect, usually rendering it fixes the problem.

Might be an aliasing problem as well, depends on the size and type of fonts used. If you have FCP7 you must have Motion as well: have you tried doing the effect in Apple Motion?

a few points:

- rendering will pf course help.

- in your sequence settings, Video Processing tab, set Motion Filtering Quality to Best.

- use the de-flicker filter on the text

Thanks Nick but that doesn't seem to work.

I can find the "Flicker Filter" but not a "De-Flicker" filter, are they both the same?

Thanks

M

my mistake,
yes, i think of it as the de-flicker filter as that's what it does,
it doesn't add flicker!
