NTSC, PAL Question
on Apr 7, 2014 at 6:13:12 pm

I have two sets of clients that reside in Great Britain and in the US.

Is there a way to output an NTSC project along with a PAL version on the same disc?

I was thinking with a Dual Layer there might be some sort of method. And can FCP or DVD Pro/iDVD do this, or do you need some sort of Ap?

Thanks...

Unless the client DVD players were built before the middle of the last decade, they should have no problems with an NTSC DVD.

You can even do a test: send them an NTSC DVD right now: anything that's lying around that can be burned to DVD.

I know of no format or authoring options where both PAL & NTSC can be on the same disk as a machine playable DVD.You could use a ROM extension to put a PAL version as a quicktime playable on a computer only.

But Dave is on the money. In the PAL world we all have players and monitors capable of auto switching to NTSC playback.
