Adding SUBTITLES for a DVD
on Feb 22, 2014 at 4:48:34 pm

I'm cutting an indie feature on FCP 7, and I need to put subtitles on many scenes since the film is in 2 languages. The final product is direct to DVD... but there is always a possibility for festival screenings.

So would I just use the lower third title tool in FCP? Or are there better options? Thank you for your advice.

there are two 3rd party subtitle tools that are better than hte title tool.

Text Up, or Text Up Pro from Spherico filmtools,
and there's one from Digital Heaven, too.

both have bottom justification, and text wrapping,
which are pretty essential for subtitling
