DVD Quality

Ok so I shot my first piece with a DSLR (Nikon D7000 1080x720)and it looks good in FCP.

Anybody know what the best settings are for export to DVD Studio Pro or for best quality?

Once you export a self-contained QT of the completed edit, you can use Compressor to make mpeg2 & ac3 files for DVDSP. For the mpeg2, just use one of the presets: probably 90 minutes/best quality.

Of course, it your epic runs longer than 90 minutes, you don't want to use that particular setting. Use the 120 minute setting if it applies.

It won't do you much good to make custom settings with a higher bit rate because there's a maximum bit rate for mpeg2 files used in the DVE technical specification.

Did that and it burned to DVD but all it was was a bunch of files that wouldn't play on anything. Actually came up as a DATA DVD. This is driving me nuts.

I'll assume that you're aware that DVDSP is a DVD authoring application, and that you have to follow certain steps to produce an authored DVD that meets the technical specification.

But it doesn't sound like you used DVDSP that way.
