mpeg2 file encoded program stream with a constant bitrate at 25MB/s

I'm working with FCP 7.0.3, and need to make a
mpeg2 file encoded program stream with a constant bitrate at 25MB/s

Do I do this through Compressor after making a MOV on FCP?

I have been given all these options by the people I have to deliver to and am thoroughly confused. Will be very very grateful for help. Apologies for being, and sounding stupid.

Options sent to me:

Standard Definition (SD) Decode

• MPEG 2 SD MP@ML (max 15Mbps), Full D1. NTSC, PAL B, G.
• MPEG 4.2 ASP@L5, Full D1. Rectangular shape video decoding up to 1280X720p30 resolution, support for B Pictures, data partitioning and error resiliency. No global motion compensation.
• MPEG 4.10 (AVC/H.264) BP@L3, MP@L3 and L3.1 (max 5Mbps) up to 720X480 or 720X576 resolution, including FMO and ASO.

High Definition (HD) Decode

• MPEG - 2 MP@HL (max 25Mbps) up to 1920X1080i60 or 1280X720p60 resolution.
• MPEG - 4.10 (AVC/H.264) HP@L4.0 and L4.1 (max 15Mbps) up to 1920X1080i60 [1], 1920X1080i50 AVC HD or 1280X720p60, 1280X720p50 resolution.

Audio

• Audio Outputs: S/PDIF digital audio (RCA female), Analog stereo audio (L/R RCA).
• Dolby Digital AC-3: Bit rates up to 640kbps. Sample rates of 32, 44.1 and 48KHz. Downmix to 2 channel Dolby Pro Logic.
• MPEG 1 and MPEG 2 Layer I, II and III (MP3) 2.0: Bit rates up to 448kbps (Layer I), 384kbps (Layer II) or 320kbps (Layer III). Sample rates of 16, 22.05, 24, 32, 44.1 and 48KHz. Single channel, dual channel, joint stereo and stereo modes.
• AAC-LC MPEG-2 and MPEG-4:(max 384kbps) Sample rates of 7.35, 8, 11.025, 12, 16, 22.05, 24, 32, 44.1 and 48KHz.

Thanks so much, in advance!

SJ

The maximum bit rate for a DVD is 7 MB/Sec. You must be making a file for a program or a commercial.

You'll have to make a custom preset in Compressor to do this. To be of any real help, We need to know more about the kind of file you need to deliver. For example, an SD file can't be both NTSC and PAL, but you list both. Pick a resolution and a frame rate.

Also, please share your sequence's frame rate and the horizontal & vertical dimensions with us.

Thanks so much for this very quick answer!
Yes this is for a program - a projection actually.

The custom options in Compressor are all MPEG 4.
But am going to find out more and write tomorrow - it's night for me here and I can only get all details tomorrow.

Thanks again, reassuring to have a response!

This looks like somebody cut-and-pasted the file support specification from their projector's user manual.

Its less of a deliverable than it is a smorgasbord menu. Really, what do "SPDIF or RCA" inputs have to do with a Quicktime file? No wonder there is confusion.

It seems like you should filter through this list and match it up with whatever your native framerate, resolution, audio profile, etc., is the closest, and that's what you send them.

Yes, my thoughts were in that direction too!
Thanks.

Strange how someone can send cut paste wide ranging information for a high priority delivery...but I guess we all have limitations :)

Thanks very much for writing in.

One way to get it right is to contact the client and have them send you a file that has worked properly for them before. It can be VERY short, but it needs to be in the form they have used before successfully.

Then you can match the file's specifications.

Yes,that's a very good idea.
Will do so.
Simple and foolproof.
Thanks!

Well, finally they have sent me a droplet for the Compressor that should do the trick.
Thanks for your attention and help.
I may surface again if I need to clarify something.
Thanks again!
