Efficient method for lots of subtitles?
on Mar 22, 2013 at 2:06:32 am

Hello all,

Editing a feature length foreign language doco. Loads of subtitles. Problem is that all those subtitles have to be rendered every time I change anything, so even small tweaks means waiting for rendering. It's killing me and I was hoping someone would have a magical answer. Is there a text gen that doesn't have to be rendered out every time something moves or is changed.

ALSO I get everyone's favorite "Out of Memory" error quite often even though the things that cause such a message are not present.

Cheers!

What is the codec of the footage in your sequence? What are your sequence settings? Because simple text shouldn't have to be rendered once added...not if you are using FCP codecs, and the RT options are set to UNLIMITED. Shouldn't even be orange if just over footage with no filters.
