In FCP7 whats the correct speed change to speed up footage shot in slow motion. I have some ARRI Alexa footage which was shot at 48 fps and 72fps which I need to play at regular speed. My sequence is 23.98. All my attempts end with a weird stutter. I don't really like the frame blending effect.

Have you tried 200.167% for the 48fps and 300.25% for the 72fps? I don't think you should need to use any frame blending for this.

the footage was never transcoded and plays native at 23.98. i think the alexa doesn't need to be transcoded and records native at Prores and other compatible formats. its 444.

so far it looks like 250% works well, but im going to try those percentages as well.

200% for the 48fps
300% for the 72fps

this will give a playback speed of 24fps. close enough to 23.976.

when you make the speed changes, turn off frame blending.

i wouldn't be too surprised if some of your stuttering is due to playing Prores4444 clips with effects.

Math. 59.94/23.98=2.49958

250%
