Exporting from Final Cut
on Feb 27, 2013 at 10:08:44 am

I have a film in final cut that looks good when played in final cut but as soon as I export it in 'Current settings' the quality is much worse. I then exported it in DV50 PAL 48 Khz settings, it took 3 hrs, is over 35GB but the quality is still poor. How do I solve this problem? It's driving me mad! I don't want it to be that big a file because it won't fit onto a DVD. Would really be grateful for any help.

Lots of unanswered questions here....

Please confirm that you are NOT authoring a DVD for use in a DVD player.

What is the codec of your original edit timeline in FCP?
What is the codec of the footage in the timeline?
Why does the file need to fit on a DVD when a 10-dollar thumb drive can hold three times the amount of data? Raise that to seven times more if you spend 20-dollars for the thumb drive.
