My quicktime mov file size is 100gb which is too big
on Jan 31, 2013 at 6:22:42 pm

Hi guys,

I have recently edited together a short film which is 12 mins long and is in 1080 res.

I exported the film as quicktime mov and the file size came up as 10gb

I need to put it on a dvd and upload it to Vimeo

Can anybody help it would be much appreciated

Cheers.

Take that file into Compressor. Use the DVD Preset to encode for DVD, and then author the DVD in DVD Studio Pro. Or...easier, but not as good of quality, take the exported 10GB file into DVD studio directly and let it encode. Best to have compressor do it, and then take into DVD SP.

Or take the file into iDVD if you want to use that.

For VIMEO...take the file into Compressor and Compress as H.264. There are YouTube presets, but not VIMEO ones. Try one of the better YouTube presets...or tweak the H.264 one to your needs. But you seem like a preset guy. When it comes to web video, I'm a preset guy too.
