I inherited the finishing of a project (FCP 7) that has native 23.98 hdv footage in a 25 fps hdv timeline. All specs match between native footage and sequence settings EXCEPT the frame rate. The problem is that the project has already been mixed and when I drop in the mix there is a drift that gets more and more noticeable throughout the duration of the project (approx. 40 minutes).
Is there any fix to this problem besides doing a new mix with pic ref at the correct frame rate? I was have tried some of the suggestions with the Easy Setup etc. but I am not sure I am doing it correctly. Has anyone ever dealt with this and can offer a suggestion?
Also, if I manage to finish in the 25 fps sequence is my final output then pal? Is it necessary to convert everything to the 23.98 timeline to remain NTSC?
