Logging 422 to 422 (HQ) while maintaining subclips.
on Jan 18, 2013 at 1:30:15 am

Forgive me if this seems elementary, but I've recently realized a large number of clips that I have logged and transfered were 422 while I needed them to be compressed as 422 (HQ). Now I realize I can easily redo the process - problem is that many of the clips were logged as subclips with multiple In/Out points. Is their an efficient way to 'upgrade' my logged clips to HQ without too much of a headache?

Thanks

The only way to "upgrade" current media to another format would be to transcode it. But in doing that you'll lose a generation of quality. Any benefit of going to HQ might be offset by transcoding the footage. If you want the cleanest HQ, you need to reimport it as HQ.

Why does it need to be HQ? What is your source format? Both are 10-bit 4:2:2 formats.
