I'm working on a 30sec video for a client. All the footage was in 1080. Knowing my computer couldn't handle editing something that big, i converted the footage down to 720p and did my work.
Problem is, the client wants the video finished in 1080. If i simply change the session settings to 1080 and then reconnect to the original footage- much of my editing gets put out of place. The video has a lot of layering of clips and different sizes and positions within the frame. So all that info ends up wrong in the new session setting.
I also can't use a blanket scale or distort property to try and fix everything at once, because some of the footage and pictures were not 720 or 1080. These elements end up positioned incorrectly.
Ultimately, i think i'm just going to waste a few hours manually repositioning things in the new 1080 session. But i'd like to know how to do this efficiently in the future- at least until i can afford a new computer!
