Trouble with Final Cut Music list
on Nov 22, 2012 at 11:22:39 am

Hi, guys!
I'm experiencing some troubles listing the music in my timeline with FCP. I need to list every song with its length in some txt file for Music Author, some business issues, and I don't know how to do it. A friend told me about a way to export OMF and do it in Nuendo, however he was not sure of the workflow in the Nuendo. So if anyone is aware of some technique I can use to do it automatically and the FCP or Nuendo can list it in txt file, I'll be most grateful if you share it! The other way seams too primitive to check in nad out for length and write it manually, as well as the song name... I have like minimum 60 songs and the are repeated several times in different length... And this I need to do on 10 timelines... Get me, right? :) Thank you in advance, guys!

You need to export an EDL. Include only the tracks that have the music in them. Use CMX-3600. That will tell you where in the timeline the music starts and ends, and where in the music you start and end.

Thank you, Shane! EDL was the problem solver to this issue!
