I have recently run into some trouble with my FCP 6. I work with tapes when filming, not memory cards and I have never had an error before.
When I import my clips, FCP gives me a warning saying "the following media files are not optimized for Final Cut Pro" and suggests that I either recapture media or use Media Manager to create new copies of the files to improve their performance for multi-stream playback.
I ignored the warning and continued editing the project (I have three consecutive clips to edit) and I had no issues until I started with the second clip. From here on, the sound skips. It is not a damaged tape, since I have worked with damaged tapes in the past and I have never noticed the sound clips jumping.
Is this a settings error? Please help me, since I have a hectic deadline for two of these projects and I need to sort this problem out.
